Guide of restaurant and café present in the Resort
Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort has a wide range of good value restaurants and snacks all over the mountain, from the Yamabiko quad lift near the summit to the Karasawa ski area in the bottom valley. There is no need to pack a lunch or come down into the village itself to eat. The list below is a quick introduction to the restaurants you can find in the resort !
Cafe & Rest Olive
Cafe and Rest Olive is a restaurant in the Hikage ski area next to the kid's park, and ski school. We have wide range of good value, hearty lunch options. The Olive rental shop is conveniently located upstairs in the same building. The chocolate soft serve ice cream is a favourite with the kids and the spicy Thai green curry is an excellent option on a cold snowy day.
VIEW MORECOUNTRY PAPA
Country Papa is the restaurant attached to Nakajima Lodge and is located on-snow, in the middle of the restaurant strip in front of the Nagasaka centre house and gondola station. It is an American themed diner with booth seating and windows that look out over the snow. Country Papa has a good range of Chicken steak meals and some great desserts. Be sure to try the Chicken ginger steak. It is open for ski resort guests every lunch through out the peak winter season.

The Craft Room is Nozawaonsen's original craft beer taproom and apres bar and cafe. The Craft Room was the first cafe in Nozawaonsen to serve All Press espresso and is open from 8am serving up the popular Breakfast Bagel, lunch with panini, sandwiches and Mt. Desert Ice Cream, Craft Room's famous wings, toasties and more. Plus happy Hour every day! Ski in, ski out just below the the Nagasaka Gondola since 2011.
VIEW MOREHakugin
Hakugin is a ski resort eatery located half way down Paradise course next to Panorama house Buna. It has fantastic views over the valley and of Mt Myoko. Inside there is a mixture of western tables and low tatami seating so you can kick back and relax with a bottle of wine or sparkling for a lazy lunch. Be sure to try the beef stew for a hearty main option or any of the snack items, especially the Namban chicken! Outside seating is available on sunny days.
VIEW MOREKAWAHIRO
Kawahiro is a family run ski lodge and restaurant right on the snow in front of the Nagasaka gondola station, with a convenient rental shop attached. Our spacious restaurant is also open to outside guests during the day and serves a variety of good value Japanese traditional dishes including 'Tendon', 'Katsudon', 'Soba', and 'Udon'. Be sure to drop in and try.
VIEW MORELODGE DENBEY
Denbey is a family run, ski-in ski-out lodge at the bottom of the Utopia chair lift, with easy access to the Japan ski museum and the Hikage area kids park. It features a large natural hot spring bath located behind the main accommodation, in a log cabin at the edge of the forest. There is also an outdoor terrace hot tub where you can sit back, relax and watch the snow fall. The restaurant is open to ski resort guests during the day, and serves a variety of locally grown produce for in-house guests in the evening.

Lodge Hahnenkamm is a family run, ski-in ski-out lodge, at the Isemiya slopes area, opposite the Japan ski museum. Set at the edge of the cedar forest, it is a great relaxing location to spend a weekend in the mountains in winter or summer. (Dinners at the in-house restaurant can be had by appointment.)
VIEW MOREPANORAMA HOUSE BUNA
Buna is a popular mountain eatery located half way down the Paradise course where on sunny days, they boast some of the best views on the mountain. Offering a variety of Japanese and western inspired dishes, Buna is a local favorite. Their popular home-made curries are a must try, and be sure to enjoy their Oyaki steamed dumplings, or just relax with some wine and cheese.

Pension Schnee is a family run, ski-in ski- out, boutique ski lodge. It is located at the foot of the Isemiya slopes, above the Hikage gondola, next to the Japan ski museum. During winter resort operating hours you can access Pension Schnee from the village via the Yu-road travelator. Pension Schnee specialise in local organic foods and pesticide-free natural wines-they boast a selection of over 400 types! Lunch and dinner can be had by reservation at least 2 days in advance.
VIEW MORERest House Kazumi
Kazumi is a family run mountain restaurant offering good value lunches, morning and afternoon tea and cakes, at the Hikage ski center, next to the kids park. We are the first restaurant in the strip closest to the end of the Yu-road travelator. There is a mix of Western tables and Tatami seating. We also offer a rental shop and ski storage on the basement level-so you do not have to carry ski gear up from the village to the resort area.

Utopia Shokudo is a large restaurant at the Junction of the Challenge and Utopia courses. It has great views over the valley and plenty of space for large groups. You can sit outside on a sunny day to enjoy the Utopia course moguls action, with a beer or ice cream. The Chicken burgers are great!
VIEW MOREResthouse Yamabiko
Located inside the old Nagasaka gondola top station at the top of the Uenotaira ski area, upstairs. Beef steak with Nozawa-na rice- Cooked on the grill as you order!Rest House Yamabiko is the largest restaurant on the mountain. Located perfectly- close to the summit courses and the Uenotaira beginner slopes it is a great meeting point for families, with plenty of space. It is currently being redesgned for the 20/21 ski season so expect some changes!
VIEW MORESHICHIROHEI COFFEE Hikage
Shichirohei coffee Hikage is located above Shirakaba rental at the Hikage ski area, next to the kids park and lesson meeting point. We have an open balcony overlooking the ski area and serve great espresso coffee and other hot drink options. The sweets are all made by our in-house pastry chef and include homemade ice cream, gluten free gateau chocolat, and Tiramisu. Check our instagram for daily menu items.
VIEW MORESUN YAMAKI
Sun Yamaki is located in the middle of the strip of restaurants at the Hikage ski area, opposite the kids park. It is a great place to relax and let the kids play outside. Our speciality is our vegan curry and we will do our best to accommodate special dierty requirements.
VIEW MOREUenotaira Lodge
Uenotaira lodge is a large restaruant at the bottom of the Uenotaira beginner course, just below the half pipe. On sunny days there is outside seating where you can sit with a drink and watch the park action. There is a large range of good value Japanese meals, including gyudon and fried chicken. The restaurant itself is laid out with comfortable booth seating, and there is also a small accessary shop selling sunglasses, suncream, waxes, neckwarmers and more. Drop in for some pancakes and a coffee!
