The ski resort is offering a chance to win one of 5 free 1-day lift tickets, every month.

Simply follow the Nozawa Onsen ski resort official Instagram profile anytime from the 1st of November to February 28th for your chance to win.

Winners are selected by lottery and will be notified by DM, so locked accounts cannot participate.

Nozawa Onsen photo contest

Join the Nozawa onsen photography contest for your chance to win a free season pass for the Nozawa onsen ski resort, or one of 20 day tickets, for the following season.

Submit your best shots to bestshot@nozawaski.com anytime between resort open and close dates.

The Uenotaira scavenger hunt!

The scavenger hunt is set on the Uenotaira beginner slopes and will run from Mid December til end of March. It is open for Primary school aged children and younger.

The rules: Find all Japanese characters hidden along the Uenotaira beginner to course to form a secret word. If you solve the puzzle you will receive a Nozawa Onsen kid’s promo pack. Let the staff know your answer at the Hikage ski centre information counter.

Kita Shinshu area season ticket discount promotion.

An extra incentive to get a Nozawa Onsen season ticket!
In co-operation with other Kitashinshu ski resorts, Nozawa onsen season ticket holders will receive 1000yen discount off a 1-day ticket at participating resorts: Madarao, Togari, and Kijimadaira between December 25, -March 27.

Madarao, Togari, and Kijimadaira season ticket holders receive the same discount when skiing in Nozawa.

Kita Shinshu Stamp Rally

The stamp rally runs between December 18 -May 27.

To enter, download the Yukiyama app, and make sure to check-in and share your riding details and photos at all four Kita Shinshu resorts:  Nozawa Onsen, Kijimadaira, Togari Onsen, and Madarao Kogen.

You will then automatically go into the lottery to win a Kita shinshu promo pack- with unique products from the local area.

Great value early season tickets are available from November 27th -December 17th, 2021.

Discount only applies to one-day tickets.

Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort Opening Festival.

Held every year to celebrate the full opening of the Nozawa onsen ski resort.

 This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Yamabiko Slope from 11am. Come and join the fun, and get your picture taken with “Naski” the Nozawa onsen resort mascot!

Santa in the snow!

Try and find Santa on the mountain from 10am on December 24th, and 25th.

Santa will have small gifts for the first 100 people to find him on each day.
Keep your eyes peeled!

New Year’s Eve night skiing and fireworks.

December 31 at the Nagasaka Slope from 4:30pm

On the night of December 31st night skiing will run through to 11:30pm on the Nagasaka slopes followed by the New year countdown and an amazing firework display on the slopes above.
Be sure to dress extra warm to make it to the end!

Local Sake on the slopes!

On the 1st of January to celebrate the new year, the ski resort taps a barrel of local sake on the slopes for guests to enjoy. The keg is tapped at 11am on the Uenotaira course in front of the Hikage gondola off-load station, so be quick to sample this great local sake.

But remember you will still have to ski home!

Naski sled race at the Hikage slope.

On the first Sunday of January, Naski- Nozawa onsen’s mascot and biggest pickle- will host the kids sled race at the Hikage ski area slopes from 1:30pm.

Entry is free and anyone can participate.

The winner will receive a Naski themed promo pack.

Ski Day, commemorative event.

On January 12, every year the ski resort holds a commemorative even to celebrate the history of Skiing in Nozawa onsen. Final event schedule is yet to be confirmed so please check here for updates closer to the day.

First Lifts- early access.

On “Ski day”- January 12th,  the resort offers a rare chance get early access to the top slopes from 740am. No extra fee but please make sure you have your lift pass ready to go for your chance to carve on the groomers without the crowds. Meet at the Nagasaka center house before 740am. The event may be cancelled in the event of a snow storm. Open courses are intermediate and advanced.

Free lessons.

The resort also offers free ski and snowboard half day lessons on January 12th.

Be at the Hikage ski centre from 830am for your chance to join. Limited to the first 30 applicants. No reservations accepted.

Dosojin Himatsuri- Fire festival.

The village’s largest event of the year, held on January 15th every year!

An epic fire battle between the villagers trying to light up the  festival “shaden” and the men of unlucky years trying to protect it. It will be back in January 2022, so be sure to catch it then.

Naski sled race at the Hikage slope.

This will be the second sled race day for the season held on first Sunday in February at the Hikage Slope Kids Park from 13: 30pm

Valentine’s Day! Chocolate fondue service

Valentine’s day in Japan is a day when men receive the chocolates! 

On February 14th from 1030am on the Hikage ski slope a complimentary chocolate fondue service will be delivered to all the guys who didn’t get a gift!

There is a limited quantity so get in early. Ladies welcome too of course!

This campaign runs from the end of February till the end of March.

Parent-child 1-day pass A (1 adult + 1 primary school aged child)  8,100 yen → 6,500 yen

Parent-child 1-day pass B (1 adult + 2 primary school aged children) 11,000 yen → 8,850 yen

And can only be purchased through the Ski resort.

White Day! Chocolate fondue service

Get sweet on the slopes! March 14.

White day in Japan is when women receive chocolates or gifts. Men who received gifts or chocolate on Valentine’s day are meant to reciprocate the favour.

From 10: 30am at the Hikage slopes a free chocolate fondue service will be available.

Get in early as supplies are limited.

Men are also welcome

Haruyama Festival

On the last Saturday of March at Yamabiko Slope from 10: 00, the annual Harayama festival is held.

Teams of three with at least 1 female team member, compete in a snow digging contest. Apply to compete from 9:30 on the day. The first 15 teams to apply will be accepted. Bring your shoveling arms!

Spring season lift ticket promotion.

1 day lift tickets bought from April 3rd till resort season close are subject to special spring season discount rates:
One-day ticket:
Adults 6,000yen → 4,700 yen,
Children 3,600 yen → 2,800 yen,
Seniors 4,800 yen → 3,800 yen

New model ski snowboard testing weekend.

Held on the second weekend of April (Fri) to (Sun) at the Yamabiko Slopes

You will have a chance to try the latest technology from a range of ski and snowboard manufactures. Make sure you bring a form of photo ID. All gear is free to test!

General events and activites.

Nagasaka night ski course mini park.

Every Saturday night and any other scheduled night ski evening, a mini park is set up on the main Nagansaka slope which includes rails and boxes.

Night skiing starts from 4:30pm. Night ski special tickets are required.

Meet Naski.

Every Saturday and Sunday from the beginning of January til the end of March, Nozawa onsen’s mascot- “Naski” makes an appearance at the Kids Park on the Hikage slope.

Come and take a picture with Naski and you may even receive some special Naski gifts.

Kids ski free days.

Every 3rd Sunday from December to March, Primary school aged children can ski free.

Tickets can only be issued at the resort ticket counters

Important!!

Please be sure to remove other valid tickets from kid’s pockets. Any tickets scanned by the gates will automatically be deemed to have been used.

Naski snow shuttle.

Operating from mid December to the end of March.

The Naski snow shuttle operates between the Nagasaka Station and Hikage Kids Park, and is the easiest way to get kids to the Hikage area.

Customers who can ride the lift and ski on the beginner’s course are requested to use the Nagasaka Triple Lift.
